What type of soil do plants need to grow well?
Kids need to understand that, once the soil has become sand, plants can’t grow properly.
Planting seeds in 2 pots to keep in the classroom.
The pots are used for comparing the growth of the same species of plant (basil, parsley ect.):
- 1 pot with healthy soil, the other pot with pure sand
- approximately the same number of seeds are put in the pots
- both pots are kept in the same conditions of watering and lighting
- once seedlings grow, kids can observe the difference of abundance of plants in the healthy soil pot
