    • Learning objectives


      • to acquire knowledge on IT sustainability, specifically on how to properly dispose and recycle IT devices (i.e. smartphones, computers, tablets);
      • To acquire knowledge about how IT devices are built and what they are made of, to understand the process through which IT devices can be recycled;
      • to raise awareness on the environmental impact of IT devices when manufactured and after their disposal.

    • Learning Outcomes


      • to understand the environmental impact of IT tools’ manufacturing, usage and disposal. 
      • to develop critical thinking and awareness on how IT devices contribute to climate change and what households can do on their part to mitigate IT-related environmental impact;
      • to acquire the knowledge necessary to adopt sustainable habits with IT devices consumption and disposal.

    • Green Information Technology (Green IT), also referred as Green computing, aims to minimize the negative impact of IT to the environment. Refers to designing, manufacturing, operating, disposing and recycling IT products in an eco-friendly manner. This educational path focuses on  IT devices recycling. Presents the explosive problem of IT wastes and focuses on IT devices recycling trying to present the benefits and the challenges of this process.
