    • Learning objectives


      • to acquire knowledge of technology tools’ energy consumption and impact on the environment;
      • to understand the impact and carbon footprint of the usage of IT devices and the activities we conduct on the Internet daily (e.g. video streaming, gaming)
      • to acquire knowledge on how IT devices work and how much energy they consume depending on their usage;
      • to develop critical thinking and awareness on how IT devices contribute to climate change and what households can do on their part to mitigate IT-related environmental impact;
      • to raise awareness on the impact on the environment of daily activity on IT devices and the Internet and foster sustainability on IT-related activities.

    • Learning Outcomes

      • be able to understand the impact of Internet and IT devices on the environment;
      • to develop a sensibility on the usage of IT devices and Internet and pursue sustainability on one’s IT-related behavior (e.g. turn off a device instead of putting it on stand-by).
      • to raise awareness of IT-related sustainability with the family and local community.
      • to adopt more sustainable behaviors and be able to independently assess the impact on the environment of one’s IT-related activity.
